My love for cleaning started at a very young age. Growing up, my mother would wake me up early in the morning with music playing, a broom in her hand, and a home that was already getting clean before the day had even begun. She always believed that where there is a mess, bad energy hides. At the time, I didn't fully understand what she meant.
As I got older, especially after having a home of my own, I began to understand it in a completely different way. I noticed that when my space was cluttered or messy, I didn't feel my best. I felt overwhelmed, stressed, and sometimes simply not like myself. But when my home was clean and organized, I felt a sense of peace. I could breathe easier, think more clearly, and truly enjoy being in my own space.
My grandmother has always shared that same love for cleanliness. Watching both my mother and grandmother dedicate so much time to caring for their homes taught me that cleaning is about more than appearance. It can be a form of care, comfort, and even a fresh start.
As a child, I may not have appreciated being told to sweep the floor again because my mother spotted one grain of rice I somehow missed. But today, I'm grateful for those lessons. They taught me the value of paying attention to the little things and taking pride in the space around me.
